Removals or Excess Baggage Shipping?

The size of your move and what items you decide to ship determines the type of service you will need, so whether you're sending a full or part household, we recommend a FREE HOME SURVEY. If you are intending on moving the majority of the content of your home then this would be classed as a full removal which would involve us loading your effects inside your own sole use sea freight container. If you are only planning on shipping half a household or a small quantity of selected items of furniture, you will only pay for volume you decide to ship and the space you take up inside the container. Your goods will be transported back to one of our depots for consolidation, loading and shipment to Malaysia.

After your FREE pre-move survey we will automatically assign two of our friendly move coordinators who will control all aspects of your removal from start to finish. Your move coordinators will be on hand to guide you through the process using their extensive knowledge and experience in international removals to Malaysia.

Door to door shipping to Malaysia
At PSS we offer a problem free door to door shipping service to Malaysia, so rest assured that you are in good hands.

Here is a brief breakdown of our door to door shipping service:

We will load your belongings into a sea freight container and we will place a customs type seal and transport the sea freight container to the UK port ready for loading onto the vessel. We will also re-confirm the estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Malaysia to ensure that you are well informed before you travel.
We will make contact with you prior to your shipment arriving to ensure that we have all the paperwork. It is imperative that we submit all the necessary documentation in advance as well as stating your contact details including your address and if your shipment is door to door or door to port. If you are transporting new goods or any restricted goods then it is recommended declare these in advance of the sea freight container arriving.
Import approval is required for importing plants, Alcohol (no tax free allowance), Swords, mobile phones, answer machines, fax machines, modems. Telecommunication devices will require approval from Telecom Malaysia and you will need to provide serial numbers, make and model.
All goods entering Malaysia are subject to a 100% physical examination. The Ministry of Agriculture may also which to inspect some items, however depending on the items you are shipping this is not common.
Electrical and Machine appliances may need approval and you will be asked to submit the original invoice, make or model, serial number.
CD's, DVD's & Video Tapes are subject to censorship by the Government film censor board. These items will be removed from the shipment without guarantee of them being returned. It can take up to 2-3 weeks before any item is returned.

Duty Free entry if you qualify with the below:

Shipper is the owner

Owned and used for 6 months plus

Shipper changing place of residence from outside of the federation to a place within the federation.

Transit times
When shipping your personal belongings to Malaysia the transit time between removal in the UK and arrival at your new destination will be approximately 4-6 weeks for full container shipments and 5-9 weeks for part load shipments.

Documentation required

Fully completed Malaysian Customs form
Removal inventory (PSS will prepare this if PSS are packing)
Valuation form for Shipment Protection cover
Copy of your Passport and Visa
Purchase receipts (only applicable if you are importing any newly purchased goods)
Work Permit or letter of employment from employer.

What can or can't I take?

Restricted Exports to Malaysia where approval maybe required:

Plants-(providing you have approval from the Ministry of Agriculture)
Alcohol-(Must provide a separate list and obtain import approval, duty can range from 150% to 250% with no tax free allowance)
Swords-(Import approval)
CD's,Video tapes, DVD's-(Subject to censorship by the Government film censor board)
Telecommunication devices such as mobile phones, fax and answering machines, modems etc- (Import approval is required from Telecom Malaysia)
Electrical and Machine appliances- (may require import approval depending on the voltage)

Prohibited Exports to Malaysia:

Explosives and Fireworks
Food items
Narcotics or Drugs etc
South African or Israeli goods or ornaments
Pornographic material
Firearms, ammunition and accessories
Replica or toy firearms
Knives and daggers (even for sport)
Weapons

Artwork and Antiques:
Antiques require import approval and a permit from the National Museum; this must be applied for by the owner of the antiques. You may need to provide additional information such as purchase receipts or valuation documents so it is recommended to start this process as early as possible.

Other information

Duty Free entry will apply if you are the owner and you have owned and used the item for 6 months plus. You will also qualify if you are changing place of residence from outside of the federation to a place within the federation.

When you arrive in Malaysia

We will handle the customs clearance process for you, please note that all shipments will be subject to a 100% examination upon arrival. As previously mentioned we will touch base with you prior to arrival to ensure that we have all the relevant documentation and contact details.
If you are transporting new goods it is important that you declare these well in advance to avoid delays.
Electrical and Machine appliances may require import approval and it is imperative that you have the original invoice.
Telecommunication devices such as mobile phones, fax and answering machines will need import approval prior to shipment, please ensure that this is supplied to your move manager prior to arrival to ensure that we start this process early.
CD's, DVD's and Video Tapes will be subject to censorship by the Government film censor board, this can take up to 2 - 3 weeks before these items are returned.
Once your goods have been released by Malaysian customs we will contact you to arrange your delivery this will either be delivered inside your sea freight container or delivered by a separate vehicle depending on the type of shipment you are sending. Our unloading crew will place your items in the rooms of your choice and unwrap and remove the packing material from your furniture.
