Removals or Excess Baggage Shipping?

The size of your move determines the service you require, so whether you're sending a full or part household, we recommend a FREE HOME SURVEY. If you would like to move the majority of your home and effects then this would be classed as a full removal which would entail us, more times than not, loading your effects inside your own sole use sea freight container. If you are only intending on shipping half a household or a small quantity of selected items of furniture, we will only base our charges on the volume that you decide to ship. We would transport your goods back to one of our depots for consolidation, loading and shipment to Saudi Arabia.

Door to door shipping to Saudi Arabia

Here is a breakdown of our door to door shipping service:

We offer a quick and efficient sea freight service where we can offer you the choice of either having your goods loaded at your door inside your own designated shipping container, or alternatively, you can share the space inside a container which would be loaded back at one of our depots. We will always ensure that we provide you with the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of your container well in advance of you leaving the UK.
When your shipment arrives in Saudi Arabia your goods will start the customs clearance process. Our dedicated team will handle all customs formalities for you, taking care of the paper work and customs clearance of your personal and household effects.
All goods entering Saudi Arabia will be subject to a physical examination. For this reason it is essential that you are in the country during the customs clearance process, otherwise your goods cannot be cleared through Saudi Arabian customs.
Customs duty between 5-20% will apply on articles new and old. Electrical goods imported will be subject to 5% duty.
If you are importing any high value items such as antiques or works of art inside your shipment, please make sure that you have a receipt or invoice confirming the purchase price, otherwise Saudi Arabian customs will value your goods at the local duty rate.
It is important that any restricted items or items that require censorship are packed separately from the main consignment to speed up the clearance process. (see 'What can or can't I take?' section)
As soon as we have received approval to release your goods we will contact you to arrange a delivery date. Alternatively, if you require storage this can be arranged at the same point.

Transit times
When shipping your personal effects to Saudi Arabia the transit time between removal in the UK and arrival at your new destination will be approximately 5-7 weeks for full container shipments. Part load shipments take between 7-10 weeks.

Documentation required

Copy of permit/Residency
Authorisation letter attested by the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce
Removal inventory (PSS will prepare this if PSS are packing)
Inventory itemising the declared value of your goods.
Certificate or Valuation form for Shipment Protection cover
Copy of your passport
Purchase receipts (only applicable if you are importing antiques or high value goods)

What can or can't I take?

Restricted Exports to Saudi Arabia subject to censorship where approval or inspection maybe required:

Prohibited Exports to Saudi Arabia:

All Games including Chess, Back Gammon, Dice and anything similar or associated with potential gambling.
Radio Transmitters
Alcohol, food products.
Weapons or Firearms, ammunition and accessories (real or ornamental)
Fireworks or Explosives
Narcotics
Pornography
Religious books which aren't Islamic
Animal Skins, stuffed animals
Military uniforms or equipment

Other information

All goods entering Saudi Arabia are subject to Duty Tax. However, a personal or household effects shipment will qualify for free entry of Duty Tax if items do not exceed the value of SR3000 or equivalent and are of a personal nature and not in commercial quantities.

When you arrive in Saudi Arabia

When your container arrives in Saudi Arabia we will facilitate your clearance through customs and contact you to arrange delivery.
All goods entering Saudi Arabia are subject to a physical examination. It is necessary that you're in the country during the customs clearance process. If you are not in the country, your goods cannot be cleared through Saudi Arabian customs.
Depending on the size of your shipment, your belongings will either be delivered in your seafreight container or in a separate vehicle.
Our unloading crew will place your items in the rooms of your choice, unwrap and remove the packing material from your furniture.
