What is the BAR code of practice?
The BAR code of practice is the formal set of standards and obligations that all BAR member companies must follow, covering: how quotes and contracts must be presented; what information must be given to customers before booking; how complaints must be handled; insurance requirements; staff training standards; and customer protection mechanisms. The BAR Code of Practice is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI). Customers who have a dispute with a BAR member that cannot be resolved directly can refer to BAR’s independent ADR service at no cost.
