Removals to Spain from the UK

However, due to the nature of international removals, it is highly recommended that you take out a Marine Insurance policy or Shipment Protection Cover. At PSS we offer and recommend Shipment Protection Cover which is very flexible and has a lot of advantages.

Our policy is quick and easy to set up, simply complete our Shipment Protection valuation form with the items you would like to cover and their values.

Actual costs are calculated as a percentage of the value you wish to cover. These vary depending on whether it’s self-packed or packed by professional overseas movers. For more information speak to one of our advisers.

Your dedicated Move Manager will advise you on the required documents and help you with their completion. Example documents required are:

• Residency Visa (valid for minimum of 12 months)
• Work Permit (valid for minimum of 12 months)
• Removal inventory (PSS will prepare this if PSS are packing)
• Valuation form for Shipment Protection cover
• Passport

International removals to mainland Spain are usually by lorry, most often in a part load / shared service. Dedicated lorries are available for a premium service; however, as goods are usually transported in large lorries or even in a European road train, the shared service is usually more cost-effective, even for quite large moves.

We do removals from all areas of the UK to Spain including popular destinations in the south of Spain such as Costa del Sol, Murcia, Almeria, and Alicante.

We also do removals to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Salamanca, The Basque Country and all other cities too. In fact, we will be able to help no matter where you are moving to in Spain.

For moving to the Balearics including Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, international removals use a container service.

Depending on the size of your move we would allocate you a 20 or 40 ft container or use our groupage / shared service for small moves.

For international removals to the Canary Islands including Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura we would provide container services.

We would pack your sole use container at your home or for smaller moves combine your items with our shared groupage service.

Once your shipment arrives in Spain your goods will start the clearance process and all personal and household effects will be presented to customs for approval.

To obtain clearance and release of goods can take up to 7 days to receive, however please be aware that this only a guide and can take longer depending on the time of year and the nature of your shipment. Rest assured we will keep you updated every step of the way.

All shipments coming from EU countries will be randomly inspected and any fees from inspection will be payable.

All shipments arriving from NON EU member countries are inspected. LCL and Air shipments are inspected at the port/airport. FCL shipments are inspected at the residence by Customs officers.

New Items:

New items arriving from NON EU member countries are dutiable. All items owned and used for less than 6 months are considered new. This period excludes the time to Spain. You must declare new items to Customs otherwise you may pay penalties as well as duties and taxes.

PSS International provide a full door to door international removal service which includes delivery of items to your new home.

We will contact you before your container arrives in Spain to ensure that we have all your relevant paperwork to enable us to start the customs clearance process as well as making sure that we have your correct requirements in place for delivery.

Once the customs clearance of your goods has taken place we can then arrange your delivery and the unpacking of your goods. Our crew will arrive at your new property and place your items in the rooms of your choice and unwrap and remove the packing material. If you are not ready to take delivery then we can offer competitive storage rates for your goods at one of our local partner Spain depots.
