One of the questions we are most frequently asked is, “how much does it cost to send furniture overseas?” Well, this depends on your consignment.

The best way to get an accurate quote is to request a free home or video survey of your house.

There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all move, so it wouldn’t be fair for all clients to receive the same quote. We calculate the cost of sending furniture abroad on the quantity of household goods you send, shipping method, your end location and the time duration in which you want to receive your furnishings.

The cost of shipping furniture doesn’t have to be extortionate; therefore we establish the most fitting transportation method based on your budget, consignment size, end destination and time-frame.

• Sea Freight ‘shared container’ is the cheapest way to ship furniture from the UK. Your goods will be loaded onto a container with other people’s belongings and shipped to the same country. Although this is the slowest option, it is economical as you will only pay for the space your items take up.
• Sea Freight ‘dedicated container’ is perfect for whole home loads or corporate relocations as it allows you to ship large loads of furniture for one fee. You will receive a 20ft or 40ft shipping container to fill how you please and will be charged one rate for this container.
• Air Freight is the most expensive way to move furniture overseas and is only practical for small and valuable items.

We will carry out a free survey prior to your move and receive a detailed no-obligation quote before you agree to our furniture shipping services. We don’t like to have any hidden costs when you move your furniture, so all quotes are for a comprehensive door-to-door service that includes customs clearances and any specific destination applicable charges.

To eliminate any worry, we prefer to have 4 weeks’ notice before shipping furniture from your house in the UK, but we understand this is not always possible. If you have an approximate moving day, we can set a provisional booking date that you can adjust accordingly.

The quantity of household goods you are sending will influence the shipping method you require, so we recommend that you have a FREE HOME SURVEY regardless if you are sending one small piece of furniture or the whole contents of your house.

If you are moving just a few pieces of furniture or smaller items, you will only require our part-load service. A part-load allows you to have your furniture sent within a shared shipping container and your costs will be based on the volume of this load.

Alternatively, for larger items of furniture in higher quantities, it might be more advantageous if you make use of our full container load service. Your furniture will be loaded onto a 20ft or 40ft container, dedicated for your use only and you will pay one flat fee for your container. This is ideal for whole home loads or commercial premises.

Our professional trained packers take great care to ensure all your household items are properly prepared and packed for their journey to your new country.

All large items of furniture including sofas, tables and cupboards are export blanket wrapped to ensure they are fully protected.

We also use export quality cartons with double-walled cardboard to pack and protect your smaller items.

Your household goods and personal effects are then carefully loaded into your shipping container
