What is a Bill of Lading for?
A (B/L) is one of the most important documents in international shipping. A Bill of Lading serves three purposes simultaneously: it is a receipt confirming that the carrier has received the goods; it is the contract of carriage setting out the terms of transport; and it is a document of title — whoever holds the original Bill of Lading has the legal right to claim the goods at the destination. Your goods cannot be released at the destination port without the original Bill of Lading.
