What is biosecurity?
Biosecurity is the measures taken by destination countries to protect their natural environment, agriculture, and native species from foreign pests, diseases, and organisms. Australia and New Zealand have the most rigorous biosecurity regimes in the world. Items entering these countries must be declared and inspected, and any items found to contain soil, organic matter, seeds, insects, or disease risk may be cleaned, treated, fumigated, or destroyed.
PSS Tip: Clean all outdoor equipment, sporting goods, footwear, and gardening tools thoroughly before packing. Any item used outdoors must be free of soil and organic matter. Failure to declare items can result in heavy fines and delays to your entire shipment.
