What is a cleanliness declaration?
A cleanliness declaration is a formal statement signed by the customer confirming that all items in the shipment have been cleaned to the biosecurity standards required by the destination country. Most commonly required for shipments to Australia and New Zealand. A cleanliness declaration typically confirms that: all items have been inspected and cleaned; no soil, seeds, plant material, or organic matter is present; outdoor and sporting equipment has been thoroughly washed; footwear has been cleaned; and wooden items do not have bark attached.
