What is the DAF?
The DAF, also known as the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is an Australian government department responsible for biosecurity and quarantine at Australia’s borders. DAFF inspects all imported goods for biosecurity risk — soil, organic matter, seeds, insects, plant material, and animal products. Items found to contain biosecurity risk may be cleaned, fumigated, or, in some cases, refused entry.
