What is desmantling?
Desmantling is the process of taking apart furniture and other items before packing to reduce their dimensions and protect them during transit. Items commonly requiring dismantling:
- Beds — headboards, frames, and slats
- Wardrobes and large bookcases — dismantled into panels where possible
- Dining tables — legs removed and packed separately
- Flat-pack furniture — reassembled items dismantled back to components
- Gym equipment — partial or full dismantling
Also known as: Disassembly, furniture dismantling
PSS Tip: If items need dismantling, please notify your Move Manager well before moving day.
