What is security filing?
Security filing or ISF is an US customs requirement that must be filed at least 24 hours before goods are loaded onto a vessel bound for the United States. The ISF contains details about the importer, the shipper, and the contents of the shipment. Failure to file an ISF, or filing it late, can result in fines of up to $5,000 per violation.
