What is the international air transport association?
The international air transport association (IATA) is a trade association that represents the world’s airlines and sets the standards governing air freight transport globally. IATA is relevant to international removals primarily through its regulations on:
- Dangerous goods by air — IATA publishes the definitive list of items prohibited from or restricted in air freight
- Lithium battery transport — IATA sets maximum watt-hour ratings and packing requirements
- Air freight documentation standards
