The ministry for primary industries (MPI) are a New Zealand government agency responsible for biosecurity at New Zealand’s borders, playing a similar role to DAFF in Australia. New Zealand has extremely strict biosecurity requirements to protect its unique environment — even small amounts of soil, seeds, or organic material can result in goods being seized or treated.
