What does packed by owner mean?
Packed by owner (PBO/Owner Packed) refers to Items that the customer has packed themselves rather than by the removal team. PBO items are noted separately in the packing inventory and are typically subject to different insurance terms — standard shipment protection usually does not cover breakage of PBO items (though they remain covered for loss).

PSS Tip: If you pack your own boxes, use double-walled cardboard boxes, pack items firmly with adequate padding, and seal all seams with strong tape. Mark each box “PBO” so the packing crew can identify them. Consider taking out all-risks insurance that explicitly covers PBO items.
