What are parking restrictions?
Parking restrictions are the legal limitations on where and when vehicles may park on public roads. Suitable space will be required for PSS vans and, where appropriate, an HGV with a shipping container.
Relevant types for removal operations:
- Double yellow lines — no waiting at any time; removal vehicles cannot stop here without a parking suspension
- Single yellow lines — time-restricted parking
- Residents’ parking zones — only permit-holders may park
- Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ)
- Private roads and estates may have their own access restrictions

PSS Tip: Check the parking situation outside your UK property before moving day. If double yellow lines or other restrictions would prevent the removal vehicle from stopping, arrange a parking suspension well in advance.
