What is a road train?
A road train is an articulated lorry consisting of a powerful tractor unit (cab) pulling one or more trailers. Road trains are the largest road vehicles used in international removals. A standard European articulated lorry has a loading capacity of approximately 90–100 CBM. Road trains require significant road width and may not be able to access many residential streets — in these cases, a smaller shuttle vehicle must be used.
They are commonly used for economies of scale in transporting household goods across Europe.
