What is roll-on-roll-off?
Roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) is a method of shipping wheeled vehicles on specially designed vessels that allow vehicles to be driven or towed on and off the ship. RoRo can be a cost-effective method of shipping a standard car internationally — the vehicle is driven onto the vessel at the origin port and driven off at the destination port, without being loaded into a container. There are disadvantages, however, as it is less secure and personal items can’t be transported with the vehicle.
