What is shipping documentation?
Shipping documentation is the complete set of documents required to ship goods internationally. For a household removal this typically includes:
- Packing inventory (detailed list of all items and their estimated values)
- Bill of Lading or Sea Waybill (issued by the shipping line)
- Customs declaration forms for the destination country
- Export declaration (for UK customs, if applicable)
- Certificate of insurance or policy schedule
- Copy of passport and proof of address
- Visa or residency documentation
- For vehicles: V5C, MOT certificate, insurance documents
- Cleanliness declaration (for Australia, New Zealand, and other biosecurity-sensitive destinations)
PSS helps prepare you and guide you through completing any necessary documentation.
Also known as: Removal documentation, shipping paperwork, export documents
PSS Tip: Review and complete all documentation carefully before moving day. Errors in documentation are the most common cause of customs delays. Your shipment cannot leave until all documentation is complete.
