What is a shuttle service?
A shuttle service is an additional service is used when the main removal vehicle cannot access the customer’s property directly. A smaller vehicle — typically a Luton van — ferries goods back and forth between the property and the main lorry parked on a nearby accessible road. Shuttle services are required when:
- The road is too narrow for the removal vehicle
- There is a weight-restricted road or bridge on the only route
- The property is accessed via steps or a steep private road
- No suitable parking can be obtained within a reasonable distance
Shuttle services add time to the collection or delivery and are charged at an additional rate.
