What are unaccompanied goods?
Uncompanied goods or personal effects are goods that travel separately from the owner — shipped via sea freight, air freight, or road freight — rather than travelling with the owner as airline checked baggage. Virtually all household goods shipped internationally are unaccompanied. In most countries with a personal effects duty exemption, the exemption applies equally to accompanied and unaccompanied goods, provided all conditions are met.
