What is a warehouse?
A secure, purpose-built storage facility used to hold goods at various stages of the international removal process. PSS operates its own UK warehouses and works with partner warehouses at destination countries. Warehouses in the removal context serve several functions:
- Pre-shipment consolidation — groupage shipments from multiple customers are combined into a single container
- Storage in Transit (SIT) — goods are held between collection and the next available sailing
- Long-term storage — goods held for extended periods before or after a move
- Container stripping and delivery — at the destination, goods are de-consolidated and individual deliveries prepared
PSS warehouses are secure, security-monitored, and insured.
