1. Car shipping options to New Zealand

There are many options available when you are shipping your car to New Zealand depending on the type of car you are sending and your personal requirements. For this reason, we offer all of our customer's professional guidance and expert advice, from your first contact through to your car arriving in New Zealand. Your car can be shipped to New Zealand in its own sealed container or we can consolidate with your household effects inside a sealed container. This combined service entails carefully loading & securing your car, building a purpose built frame, over crating vehicle, and safely loading your household effects inside the container. The recommended types of containers available for shipment of cars to New Zealand are 20ft containers and 40ft containers.

Option A: CONTAINER AT RESIDENCE (CAR & HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS)

If you wish to combine your household removal and your car inside your own container to New Zealand, we would position a container at your residence on removal day and carefully load, secure and over crate your car as described above. The remaining space inside the container would be utilised by loading and stowing your professionally packed household effects. Your container will be sealed at your door with a customs type seal, your sole use container would then be returned to the UK port and custom terminal ready for loading on to the vessel for shipment to New Zealand.

If you would prefer to have a separate container for your car or if your car is the only item you are sending, this can easily be arranged based on your requirements. A container can either be positioned at your residence, PSS warehouse or shipping line container depot and shipped through to New Zealand. (We can provide you with separate quotations which will include either, handout of your car at our New Zealand warehouse including Customs clearance or handout at the port terminal including customs clearance)

Every precaution is taken to ensure your car arrives in New Zealand safely and in the same condition that it left the UK. Nevertheless, it is advisable to cover your car while it is in transit. 6. Steam Cleaning of motor cars to New Zealand & Quarantine

All cars being shipped to New Zealand are required to be clean before shipment and will be subject to a Quarantine inspection by the New Zealand Quarantine department & conducted upon arrival. Consequently we recommend that all cars are steam cleaned before they are loaded paying special attention to the underneath of the motor car (wheels, tyres, wheel arches, and engine compartment) and if accepted by quarantine this can save you both time and an additional expense. Unfortunately quarantine may still insist that your car needs to be steam cleaned upon arrival and this will incur an additional fee, the fees are assessed locally and dependant on the condition of your car.
